The Old Creamery Theatre Company has been producing and performing Theatre for Young Audiences since the organization’s inception in 1971. Over the years the theatre has presented a variety of original works, but in the last decade, The Old Creamery has been using an innovative program to create new theatrical pieces by using stories written by children in grades 1 through 6.

Each year The Old Creamery Theatre sends out a call for entries for the annual writing contest. Students are given different story writing guidelines each year, but the one unchanging aspect is that the stories must always teach a lesson. The theatre receives hundreds of entries each year and from these stories The Old Creamery artists create a new educational and entertaining, fully staged theatrical production.

Performances last approximately 45 minutes and provide song, dance, and silliness while teaching valuable life lessons through the words of a child.
