Steve is an Associate Professor of Theatre at the University of Northern Iowa and has served as a Department Head at LaGrange College, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and UNI. Steve received a B.S.E. from the University of Central Missouri majoring in theatre and speech with a minor in dance, an M.A. in theatre from Missouri State University and a Ph.D. in fine arts with concentrations in arts management and directing from Texas Tech University. Entering his fifth season with The Old Creamery Theatre Company, his relationship with The Creamery began in 2004 as an actor in Amadeus. He has since served as director/light designer for Nobody Don’t Like Yogi, Broadway Bound and Tuesdays With Morrie. Steve contributed original music and lyrics for Holiday Hijinks: Independence Day, and also served as light designer for the main stage productions of It Runs in the Family and Barefoot in the Park. Old Creamery patrons may also remember Steve portraying Morrie Schwartz in Tuesdays With Morrie and a variety of wacky characters in last season’s Greater Tuna. This summer, Steve will travel to NW Iowa to perform in the Okoboji Summer Theatre production of Leaving Iowa. He is thrilled to be back in Amana and working with the talented cast and crew of Rounding Third.
