Ryan is in his first season with the OCTC as Sound Designer/Engineer and Percussionist. He grew up in Des Moines, graduating from Roosevelt High School, and then attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Through high school and college Ryan has been a member of many groups and ensembles from classical and jazz to funk and pop. With these ensembles he has been blessed to perform on stages all over the country including multiple performances at the Percussive Arts Society’s International Convention (PASIC) and guest appearances with jazz greats such as Wycliffe Gordon, Peter Erskine, Ernie Watts, and many others. Since graduating from TSU with a degree in Music in 2003 he has been touring the country drumming for the Pop/Rock band “Full Day Affair” signed to Shock City Records in St. Louis. With the band on a temporary hiatus, and relocating to Chicago later this year, he has decided to branch out in the industry bringing him to the theatre world. Previous theatre credits include West Side Story, The King and I, South Pacific, Once on this Island, and Beehive as a Percussionist, as well as The Honky Tonk Angels and The Nerd as Sound Engineer/Designer earlier in this OCTC season. Ryan would like to thank his family, all of his teachers and fellow musicians, and the OCTC for the great opportunity.
